Note

This measuring method was designed and tested only for CleanZone and WorkZone. The suitability of this technique can therefore not be guaranteed for peel-off mats or other polymer floor coverings.

Performance measurement of cleanroom flooring

To measure the particle retention of the floor covering a special measuring instrument – the Advanced Force Gorge (AFG) – was developed for the easy and highly specific measurement of tension and compression forces in Newtons.

The measured Newtonian force is set in relation to the particle retention capacity and the particle collection capacity of CleanZone and WorkZone, as illustrated in the table below. The higher the force in Newtons, the higher the particle retention capacity of the floor covering. The table contains typical readings for CleanZone measured with an AFG in relation to the percentage of particles removed from a clean surface.

If the attraction force in Newtons is < 10, then we recommend replacing the floor covering, since this corresponds to a maximum particle retention capacity of only 55%.
